COURSE DESCRIPTION & OUTLINE
The NESC Overview and Overhead Distribution Systems School reviews the most recent (2022) NESC standards including requirements for design, construction and maintenance of overhead distribution systems. This course is designed for professional safety managers, electric utility engineers/designers, and technicians responsible for transmission and distribution systems. This content will equip attendees with training to make better design decisions, enhance safety and service reliability and reduce construction costs.

- Significant Revisions to the NESC
- NESC Compliance, Legal Liability and Risk Management
- Rule Interpretations and Compliance Resources
- Code Violation Recognition and Corrections
- Integration of NESC Requirements for Design, Construction, and Maintenance Practices
- Safety and Work Rules for Construction and Operations Personnel
- Code Interpretations and Compliance Issues
- Distribution Pole Strength Requirements/Calculations
- Pole Line Design and Conductor Clearance Calculations
This school is not intended to certify an individual as outlined in (a) (2) (vii) of the 1910.269 Electrical Power Generation Transmission and Distribution Standard.
