COURSE DESCRIPTION

Leadership Skills for the Crew Leader will provide crew leaders and supervisors the skills, knowledge and experiences to help create an environment dedicated to meeting the expectations of your role, while helping others feel engaged, respected, valued and successful.

COURSE OUTLINE

  • Review the Six Leadership Guiding Principles associated with being an effective Crew Leader.
  • Develop strategies for overcoming role challenges.
  • Identify leadership strengths, growth opportunities and strategies for improvement.
  • Explore how to effectively and efficiently assign work using the Getting the Work Done Model™ to ensure assignments are completed safely and meet expectations. 
  • Use the WINS™ approach to encourage and motivate Crew Members to do their best work.
  • Demonstrate how the concept of RESPECT will help you project a respectful and credible image, as well as create an environment of inclusion, teamwork and collaboration.
  • Identify your communication style preference(s), its strengths, impacts on others and adapting strategies to meet other’s style needs.
  • Identify listening strengths, personal challenges and strategies for becoming a more engaged listener.
  • Develop a Personal Commitment Statement for applying the Six Crew Leadership Guiding Principles back at work.

Price includes workbook, snacks and lunch Wednesday – Thursday. Class size is limited to 25.

PREREQUISITES: None

CANCELLATION POLICY: If a course is cancelled by ElectriCities, all registrants will be notified with a full registration fee refund. Participant Cancellation and No Shows: A non-refundable registration fee will be charged for cancellations after the deadline of February 8, 2023.
